Impact LED Illuminated Badminton Set Review

I wasn't expecting a super-high quality badminton set to have LED lights in it, but this one is a joke.

Construction is way more difficult than it should be, partly because the bolts that come with the set aren't the right length--all four are too long--and partly because the directions are written poorly and placed on the page in a bizarre layout.All I can say is that I am leaving the top pole segments attached to the net permanently so I don't ever have to go through that experience again.Unfortunately, no bag or case is provided, so I will have to lug around an awkward jumble of stuff if I ever want to travel with this thing, which I do.

The birdies came pre-smushed.

The light in one of the racquets didn't work, but fortunately the one line in the instructions that was helpful advised that re-seating the batteries (required:mini screwdriver, not provided) might work, and it did.

Note that the net requires 3 AA batteries, which isn't mentioned in the description here.

On the plus side, the LED lights do look pretty darn cool when they work.We haven't played with the set yet (or put up the net, which no doubt will provide more "entertainment" given the poor quality of the materials and thoughtless design) so we don't know whether the birdies will keep working during play--according to reviews on Target's site, the birdies' lights tend to go off after a few whacks. Guess I'd better keep that mini screwdriver handy to re-seat the batteries, always a fun thing to do in the midst of a badminton match.

In my opinion, this is one of the best skates for the price, but it's still got some drawbacks.

Pros:Comfortable with less solid plastic, 82A wheels are harder than most that come with skates, aluminum frames.

Cons:Sticks can get stuck in the metal crossbar on the frame.Brake support is hard to remove, and those dipwads at Rollerblade don't include an extra axle.Only come with 80mm wheels.(compatable with 84mm wheels)

Advice:The insert that comes with the skate is junk.(Aren't they all.)Put in a good, solid flat insert.This will also keep the inner boot from slipping out of the frame.(Inner boots are removeable for faster drying.)

Reddi Rink Ice Skating Rink Review

Flat out, this didn't work. First, they don't make it clear that it is a one time use item. For $35 I didn't expect much, but they should make it clear. It is essentially a giant baggie that you fill with water and wait to freeze. I had this on a very flat surface, with just the slightest of drainage slope and the whole thing kept rolling to one side.I eventually propped it up and blocked that side so that itlaid flat and waited for it to freeze.So, as if this morning it's frozen. But . . . the bag trapped too much air and the ice is all cracking, aside from the very middle. It is not skatable at all.I don't see how you would keep the air out of this thing. I just sprayed it with water in the hopes that it gets in the cracks and fills in the air pockets are refreezes as a block. But I doubt it will work.Just a desperate attempt to lessen an 8 year old's disappointment.

Pro-Tec Park Skate Knee Pads Review

I purchased the Army Green knee pads for protection when playing airsoft on the rocky Texas terrain. For its function as aprotection from sharp blows, these pads are excellent. Other criteria for good knee pads are a secure fit, and comfort. These have been the most secure pads I've owned, and I've used at least four different models from my days playing paintball.

My initial discomfort with this pads however is the reason for the 4-star rating. Let me first say that my experience can be subjective, as these pads are designed for skate park use. As you can see from the photos, these pads have a natural bend to them, supporting a bent-knee stance common among bladers or bike riders. For airsoft and paintball, the wearer is likely standing up or running with legs extended. This causes the bottom edge of the pad to dig into the shin or bottom knee cap. I have several friends who have owned these pads for a while, and they say the discomfort will go away after the padding has broken in. I sure hope so, because then I would rate the Park pads a solid five.

Rollerblade Active HP Wheels with SG9 Bearings - 8 Pack 2010 Review

I am on my 3rd set of these wheels. I get probably 600+ miles per set (skating on smooth & semi-smooth concrete). The 84A hardness is much better than 82A or 80A durometer, which wear out too quickly.

Shop around, especially at Warehouse places specializing in Inline stuff. Prices vary a lot.

Mine came with spacers for 8mm axles, not the 6mm axles on my K2 skates. But I swapped in my old spacers and all is well.

A few of the bearings were flawed but most of them were insanely smooth when spinning in my hand. The flawed ones seem to be fine once broken in on the skate.

We bought this product under the assumption that it was nicer than some of the others and the one we have.It is not!!It is a very cheap net and the poles came broken and one of the raquets is freying and it has never been used.The seller is very hard to get a hold of and will only return with a re-stocking fee!!Very poor company in my opinon.Not worth it!!

Purchased 2 for my 11 year old who pulls them to the park and back every day.. The nets have held up pretty well but the center pole has become loose and the poles fall off occasionally. Over all good product for the cost compared to others out there. **suggestion**.. put some pvc glue on joints when you assemble, if you have the room to store them it helps.

The unit arrived in good stead and in a timely manner. After opening it, I was having trouble getting it assembled. Finally realized that one of the three sections of the net was sewn together upside down, so that the wide edge was at the top with the other two wide edges at the bottom. IMPOSSIBLE to contact the company. AMAZON gave absolutely no help with a contact point, as it did not come from them but from COLLEGIATE PACIFIC. I do not believe that Collegiate Pacific actually exists in the United States. I believe it is an Asian company. There is no phone number to make an exchange so had to eat the item. TOUGH CHEW!!!

Yukon Charlie Junior Series Boys Snowshoes - Kids 2010 Review

We bought these for our 6-year old (about 52lbs.). We live in Valdez, AK, so we get a lot of snow. They're the perfect size so that she doesn't pigeon-hole when she's walking in the snow. We've used them in the yard and out and about...she has very little trouble getting around in them (after a bit of practice)! These are great snow shoes for kids. I'd definitely buy them again. Mission Swiss Lite 608 Bearings 16 Pack Review

These bearings are awesome. The bearings that came with my Rollerblades were getting very worn down and making a lot of noise. I first bought a different brand of bearings but they were not much better than the old warn out ones. Then I decided to spend a little more and get these Mission bearings. The improvement was far better than I expected. With the previous bearings I felt like I was always skating up hill. With the new ones I can go much faster with less effort. I also bought new wheels at the same time. The wheels are also very good but I think it is the bearings that are responsible for most of the difference. I took these new bearings out for a 44 mile skate and it felt great.
